External wall Insulation

External walls of a building and all their parts must be designed and constructed in such a manner that during the exploitation of the building they may permanently provide the following:

  • Protection against atmospheric precipitation and effects – rain, snow, penetration of wind, dust and polluted air
  • Fire prevention – at designing and construction of a facade, the provisions of the Technical Norms of Fire Prevention in High Buildings must be observed
  • Thermal protection – to protect building users against insufficient or excessive heat, to provide comfortable living conditions, i.e. to provide good heat accumulation and to ensure the feeling of comfort is not disrupted due to a sudden change in heating regime or sudden change of outside temperature
  • Diffusive vapour removal – to enable the passing through of water vapour without occurrence of condensate on either external surfaces or in the inside
  • Heating energy savings – to reduce the need for energy intended for heating or cooling of rooms
  • Acoustic protection – to protect building users against external noise.

All of these are possible to achieve at the same time by using mineral wool from  Knauf Insulation.

in every application:

Sandwich wall

Contact facade

Ventilated facade

Insulation walls from the inside

Advantages of using mineral wool from  Knauf Insulation:

  • Energy efficient construction – reduced heating and cooling bills; ensured short period of return on investment
  • The best fire protection – incombustible material that prevents fire spreading, with extremely high melting temperature above 1000˚C, thus providing longer fire prevention
  • Efficient acoustic protection against noise that surrounds us – excellent absorption material
  • No resistance to water vapour flow – wall is breathing owing to open porosity of the material and low water vapour diffusion resistance factor
  • It does not absorb water – a hydrophobic material over the whole cross section
  • Dimensionally stable insulation material – stone wool does not change its shape or volume under the influence of external temperature changes
  • Long life and durability of insulation over time – insulation material on your facade will retain its characteristics unchanged during the whole life of the building
  • Resistant to chemicals – chemically neutral, it does not react with other materials of the system
  • Resistant to microorganisms and insects

Simple and fast installation – it is easily cut in desirable dimensions and shapes
